Today I’m here with Boris Bunglehole. The so-called Semi-Commissioner of Police. He answered my questions pertaining to the state of the police department, the future of it with a focus on the police’s relationships with the citizens of Evergreen, and how those relationships may improve.
I introduced: Alright so for those of you reading that do not know Boris Bunglehole, he is the Semi-Commissioner of Police underneath me, Ursula Frederickson, Commissioner of Police.
I asked: Why do you think Evergreen has so many repeat offenders?
He replied: Well, you know, that reflects on the, you know I don’t know. It’s because people love it, people love it so much. They love it so good.
I inquired: Do you think you’ll be the Commissioner forever?
He answered: Yeah, I think so. I think that I’ll be Semi-Commissioner forever but hopefully there will be someone else to be chief soon.
I suggested: Do you think that you’ve run PD successfully so far?
He responded: I think I’ve run it to the best of my ability. Under the circumstances, we’ve done really well.
I pushed: What circumstances?
He retaliated: You know, we’ve experienced a change in employees and our staff has changed a lot throughout the time we’ve existed along with the high command, but I think we’ve done well.
I stated: What do you foresee in the PD’s future?
He returned: Hopefully more stability in the high command, more structure in the hierarchy. Some elections for chief and a better relationship with the public.
I queried: Notoriously, the police department doesn’t really have a good rep with most citizens and definitely not with the criminals of the city, why do you think that is?
He retorted: Well, you know it is our job to arrest criminals and send them to jail which is something that most people don’t enjoy. I think it’s a natural thing for the relationship between us and criminals to be tense, but I also do think there’s a lot of improvement to be made between the two. I think both PD and criminals play a part in that.
I implored: How would you describe PD’s relationship with the normal citizens of Evergreen?
He riposted: I think it’s, for the most part, pretty good. I think there’s some specific relationships between specific officers and specific civilians that may be tense but overall, it’s pretty okay.
I requested: What’s PD’s relationship with the DOJ and City Hall as a whole?
He acknowledged: I think we’ve had certain incidents of some tension between PD and DOJ but in general it’s pretty good. We have good collaborations with the DOJ and good interactions with them.
I speculated: And then how would you describe PD’s relationship with most criminals?
He rejoined: I think on the most part, we do have a good time. We have fun and I hope to have a lot more fun in future, God Bless.
I pondered: Within the police department, are there any faults in how you deal with people?
He turned around: I think sometimes people are not in their right headspace to be clocking in, but they kind of pressure themselves to do so anyway. Then they’re a little more on edge than what’s ideal.
I added on: Following on, is there a way to better deal with people?
He continued: I think it’s important that we all take breaks when we need to. I think that goes for criminals as well. You know if you’re not there to have a good time and if you’re not having a good time, perhaps you need to take a break.
I wondered: Are there any initiatives inside PD to help improve public relationships?
He spouted: Well, we do have the wonderful Public Affairs Department that we’re trying to get started. A department of the PD that’s specifically created to improve relations with the civilians and host events and improve interactions with the public.
I thought: What would be the jobs of the Public Affairs Department?
He listed: They would be the first people you meet if you walk into the PD. They’ll help you if you have a report you want to file or if you need a license. Even if you need help with something or have any questions like that, they’ll be able to help you.
I ended: When do you think we’ll see more of the Public Affairs Department?
He concluded: I think within the coming months you’ll see more and more of it.
And that concluded the one-on-one interview with Semi-Commissioner Bunglehole. It seems that PD plans to improve their public relations with their new initiative: The Public Affairs Department. I would suggest keeping your eyes peeled for more information in the coming months as Boris stated.
