Candidates Dive into Campaign for Pearls

Pearl's is a beautiful table-service seafood restaurant located on the Del Perro Pier and needs dedicated citizens with a passion for the restaurant biz to take over! Who will produce the best business proposal, host the best event, and dominate the campaign trail?

Wolfy Grande | Maega Ego

"There's a couple people running against us, but we've put in the work. Third times the charm!"

They believe there is a massive lack of seafood in Evergreen. Wolfy's plan was always to bring seafood into the VU had he gotten a business license for it during the push for its reopening. The event he hosted for it turned out really well and he had the community on his side, but unfortunately didn't get the response back from the Better Business Bureau that he was looking for. He also has tried running for Cluckin Bell and Rex's Diner previously, making Pearls his third official run. Maega has prior experience in owning Pearls and he shares Wolfy's attraction to Luxury. To quote them directly, "The building looks fancy and gives luxury. That's the establishment we've always wanted. We both live upscale luxurious lifestyles." Wolfy continues, "I have a house and an office in Rockford. Fancy is key for me." Their plan is to have their employees look the part in sleek black and gold outfits while they serve dine in and carry out. They'd like the emphasis that Pearls is not fast food, and pricing should be expected to be on the higher end. They provided some insight on the menu and some highlights are their signature Seafood Boil, a mixture of different types of fish, and the Pearly Biscuit, which will be loaded with cheddar, and breaded generously with a warm buttery crust. Beyond what we're able to share, they have some exciting plans that would honor customers who come back and show their loyalty.

Matthew and Omar came together as business partners and brought their company, King's Crown, to life. They provide auto trades and assist in the sale of used vehicles. The company's highlight is the Spare Tire program which has them collecting donations from citizens who don't use their cars anymore and offers them to new ones to get them started. They've given out over 20 cars so far, and these cars come with a welcome package that includes food provided by Rex's Diner. They plan on including a fishing rod, bait, and food and drink from Pearls in those packages as well. If they get Pearls, their mission is to integrate high quality customer service to the community. Their focus is to use fish that otherwise don't have a purpose like cod and eels, to buy back from the community to use only fresh ingredients for the fine dining that will be offered. They'd like to bring foods that the city is otherwise lacking such as, sushi, and calamari. The outfit you see them posing in is the uniform you can expect their employees to be wearing. Slutty sailor chic with an emphasis on showing thigh.

Elara has been a citizen of Evergreen for a year. Her first ever job was at Harmony Autos, and when they asked her what her intentions were, she knew she wanted to be a business owner. With Pearls being built, it feels like stars are aligning and it's the right time for her. If you ask anyone who knows Lucas, they'll tell you he's the definition of a hard worker. He takes every job he has very seriously and dedicates his time to his work. Their goal is to help new citizens out where they can by offering free food and drink of their choice, while also maintaining a safe space for all. They plan on sharing family recipes such as Fish and Chips, and their favorite, the Vespucci Splash, this chocolate waterfall is sure to keep you afloat! You can expect coupons and loyalty programs to show their admiration and appreciation for their customers. To quote Elara, "We want people to be able to afford it, but we'll have to be priced fairly due to our freshly caught ingredients that will be cooked to order." They're looking for a stylist to design their uniforms, so if you're interested, reach out to this father-daughter duo.

These three are very serious about this venture and have been and will continue to be loyal to the community. They've been business partners for a while and went for Pizza This as well. Ways to provide for the community is what's most important. Pearls under their ownership will provide opportunities for all citizens, new and old. They've been through the struggle of being overlooked and the goal is for that struggle to end with them. They feel as though they're the underdogs in this run, and when asked to go into that a little further they said, "From a business standpoint, the others running should feel threatened. They may have citizen business owners on their side, but we're only looking for collaboration and respect. Our ownership of Pearls won't be a rivalry." They're here to show they put in the work and that it's all out love for the citizens of Evergreen. To quote Norman directly, "You can count on us to be present. It's our mission to be very hands on and very involved. The celebrations after buying businesses seem to fizzle out after a few weeks but we plan on staying as visible and as involved as Issabella is at Pizza This. Respect where respect is due. We plan on emulating that." They provided some insight to their menu, which was carefully curated from community feedback about what's missing or what they were interested in seeing. What sounds most delicious is their take on Traditional Surf N' Turf. This luxurious dish is made with filet mignon, scallops, shrimp, peppers, onions, and garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Did your mouth just water too? They've hired a fashion designer to curate and develop the uniforms to show customers they're getting quality in looks, service, and taste for their money.
