When the Clock Strikes Twelve

I had to privilege of inviting Kim Icon to the Weazel News studio to get an insight on her debut single, MIDNIGHT.

When I asked her about how her music career started, she stated,

This journey started two months ago. I decided I needed to do something with my life, so I auditioned at Triad with Katerina back when she was in charge. I wanted to create something that showed emotion and feelings. This isn't shade at anyone in particular, but a lot of the music in this city doesn't show any emotion, no personal vibes. I've also always wanted to shoot a music video. Landon Tyler directed the MIDNIGHT music video and helped make my dreams come alive.

I wanted to dive deeper into what MIDNIGHT means to Kim, and asked what fans could expect from the video,

MIDNIGHT is about a breakup. It just goes back to my past. I'm married now and don't want to name drop because that's not me or what I'm about, but it was a shitty, excuse the profanity, situation. It's about someone who I thought and believed to be the one, but it didn't turn out that way. I was cheated on and you'll it in the music video. I'm very excited, it comes out at midnight, hence the song title. Succubus energy. Turn Off the Light by Kim Petras vibe.

I wondered if there was a specific lyric that spoke out to her and that she hopes resonates,

When I got into the studio with Zoë Bee and got down into writing, we came up with the clock strikes twelve. It means he's not home yet, and he's out with someone else.

I ended the interview asking if she had any final thoughts as this project is released,

I want to tell new and upcoming artists to learn from my experience. Trust and cherish the people who will be there for you who actually want to help you. Don't chase after people who don't want to help or have the courage to do so. I want to thank Emma Rald for keeping me sane and bringing my energy back. She kept me positive and contributed so much through this whole process.
