Exclusive Chat with one of Evergreen’s Hottest Artists, Jacob Valor-Kattegat!

I had the pleasure of sitting down with the incredibly talented Jacob Valor-Kattegat, one of the city's best artists. In a rapid-fire round of questions, Jacob dished on his crushes, bad habits, and some thrilling plans for the future! Dive into our fun and candid conversation below:

Jupiter (J): Hello, how are you doing today?

Jacob (JVK): I’m doing good, it’s been a busy day but it’s been fine.

J: So we are going to do some quick fire questions about completely random things, for your fans to get to know you a little bit better.

JVK: OMG I feel like I’m horrible at those but yea, let’s try

J: You’ll be fine! So, what’s your favorite time of day?

JVK: I feel like at night is nice because of all of the  aurora boralis kind of thing, you know and like, they come out and all the weirdos come out in city, just kidding (both laugh)

J: What was the first thing you thought about when you wokr up this morning?

JVK: OMG! That Kevin is a fuckin’ bitch as annoyin’ ass stupid ass fuckin’ UGHH sorry it’s been a really rough morning, um, just put.. Kevin, the previous owner of The (Retro) Arcade, I’m just kidding, I’m kidding I love him to bits but like… just put Kevin’s an asshole

J: Hahaha! What did you get up to at the weekend?

JVK: The weekend! Wait what day is it?

J: It’s Tuesday

JVK: It’s Monday… Tuesday.. I was at DisKnee Land with my family. I just came back for some meetings and things but will be going back after this interview.

J: Very nice! Who is your celebrity crush?

JVK: Let’s go with..fuck… this is so difficult. That’s a tough question. You know what, Lylli Lux or Vanessa Starz. Surprised I didn’t say a guy?

J: No, I had a crush on Mayella..

JVK: That makes sense!! I think she’s a celebrity - Ooo actually can I say Cassie Fox or Bridges

J: Yeah sure, what’s something you’ve done that you’re proud of?

JVK: I feel like there’s so much. I wanna say, career wise,obviously I like doing music and stuff but one of the things I wanted to do was like, get on a personal level with people and like that was me getting a job at The (Retro) Arcade, you know, because like, when I’m in the fuckin’ studio most of the day, you don’t get to like, talk to people and you don’t get that personal, social… you know?

J: Yeahh I feel that

JVK: So definitely that

J: Do you have any bad habits?

JVK: Myeahh every time I see a local pass by I feel like I just need to like punch them or like, shoot them… That’s definitely one of the habits I dislike about myself because like you know, they're also people too right? Like you know what I mean? I hate to be that guy but , you know, if I see one walking by and I’m having a conversation, I will stop the conversation just to punch them, maybe it’s my ADHDness or something but I don’t know

J: I think that’s a fairly common one! Do you have any pet peeves or icks?

JVK: When you’re talking to someone and they’re constantly on their phone

J: Me too, what is the last song you listened to?

JVK: Ignite! It’s almost at 3k listens!! - shoutout to Zoe Bee

J: I love that song! If you could switch lives with one person for a day who would it be? JVK: Mayella, she’s got it all

J: Favorite food?

JVK: Corndogs from The (Retro) Arcade

J: Favorite Snack?

JVK: Pink Lemonade from Rusty’s (Donuts)

J: Favorite color?

JVK: It’s red.. If ou can’t tell

J: Haha.. What’s something you’re tired of seeing?

JVK: The same artists at different events with the same setlists (laughing). No shade, all tea. That’s what I hate. And the same fucking choreo.

J: Yeah, it’s basically the same concert I guess. If you were on a deserted island, what one item would you bring with you?

JVK: Umm my vibrat- I’m kidding! You know what.. I would go for my BB cream. It has foundation and sunscreen in it and it mousturises your skin. I don’t wanna be super chappy or orange on an island, that’s not hot….a knife would be good too

J: Are you left handed or right handed?

JVK: Depends which hand you want me to use (both laugh) Kidding! I’m right handed but, you know, I could use my left hand if..um..you know…

J: If the situation rises?

JVK: Yeah if something rises

J: Hahaha - um.. What’s something you’re excited for?

JVK: Oh.. well I have some future plans, business wise, I‘m just waiting for the city to re-open business proposals and.. I don’t wanna talk too much about it but it’s in the works

J: That’s exciting! What is something your fans might not know about you?JVK: That’s a great question. I feel like I’m pretty like open towards whatever it is.. Umm.. That’s difficult… oh, yes, I mean some people know this already but, I do bleach my hair, it’s not white white. I did stop bleaching it during my honeymoon because I didn’t wanna ship my hairdresser out or have her do my hair every week. I did stop bleaching my hair so that’s something new

J: Are you growing it out?JVK: We’ll see, we’ll see… I’ve already grown it out girl
